The idea of changing physicians can be anxiety provoking for patients. Maybe you have moved to a new city or senior care community and need a new doctor, or perhaps your physician is the one who has moved away or has retired. Perhaps your current physician no longer fits your needs and you want to look for someone new. Adding to the anxiety, the current pandemic can bring with it an extra set of challenges since many physicians who are using telehealth still require that new patient appointments be conducted in person. Many patients opt to stick with what they have to reduce exposure risk.
So, how do you select someone new? The National Institute on Aging has some helpful tips and pointers. To learn more, visit their post here.
