The pandemic has made most people’s budgets a little tighter this year for holiday gifts. The truth is that most children, especially younger children, really do appreciate simpler gifts. Why not make something for them to enjoy this year? Even something as inexpensive as a box gingerbread house like the one shown in the photo using items you may already have on hand would delight just about any young grandchild. If your talent is knitting or crocheting, a hat, scarf, or blanket that they can cherish is an idea. If you paint or woodwork, go with that. Even writing down family recipes for the young baker or passing down a few tools for the Scout in the family is an inexpensive way to show love to the children in your family.
Gifts do not have to be expensive to be meaningful, as a matter of fact, some of the most meaningful ones are the least expensive of all!
