Allison Johnson

Allison Johnson, originally from Clovis, California, completed her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Saint Mary’s College of California in 2020 and was nominated for the role of valedictorian. Following her undergraduate studies, Allison earned her Master of Public Policy at Pepperdine University, specializing in state and local policy, where she graduated top of her class in 2022.

During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Allison faced a pivotal decision between her dream of moving to Tennessee to pursue law school and the challenges posed by the pandemic. She embarked on a brief career in banking, gaining experience both at the branch level and in back-office compliance, all while attending Pepperdine University full-time.

In July of 2022, Allison achieved a significant milestone by purchasing her first home in Knoxville, Tennessee. That fall, she commenced her studies at the University of Tennessee College of Law, all while continuing her full-time work in the financial sector. Allison is on track to graduate in May of 2025 and is actively involved in the College of Law community as a member of Law Women and the Federalist Society.

Allison’s rigorous studies in public policy honed her analytical and critical thinking abilities, while her compliance work in banking provided her with a solid foundation in regulatory and legal frameworks. Additionally, Allison has gained practical, hands-on legal experience through her work under a provisional bar license at the UT Legal Clinic in Estate Planning. She will continue this work as an advanced student-attorney in the fall of 2024, further solidifying her commitment to serving the community.

Allison enjoys her life in Knoxville with her coyote shepherd dog, Nala, and her kitty, Brandy. In her free time, she enjoys learning the science of cooking, exploring the wonders of Tennessee, and religiously cheering on the Volunteers!
