Gabrielle Blake

Gabrielle Blake is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and joined our firm as an Elder Care Coordinator in 2010. She has a bachelor’s degree in human services from Tennessee Wesleyan College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee. In 1997, Gabrielle began her career as a community counselor at Charter Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. After obtaining her license as a clinical social worker (LCSW), Gabrielle was a group and individual therapist at the Peninsula Senior Day Hospital, a Covenant Health program. She continues to work with Peninsula Lighthouse on an as needed basis.

Gabrielle is active in our community and her church, Church Street United Methodist Church.  She is the chair of the advisory board of the Senior Home Companion Program (Knox County Office on Aging).  She serves on the board of directors of Random Acts of Flowers, Knoxville.  She volunteers with Girl Scouts, earning the Volunteer of Excellence Award in 2021. She also volunteers with Alzheimer’s Tennessee, the Daily Living Center, and Beacon of Hope.

Gabrielle is a Certified Dementia Practitioner by the National Council for Certified Dementia Practitioners. She is the president of the Knoxville Chapter of Tennessee Society of Healthcare Social Workers. She is a member of National Association of Social Workers and East Tennessee Council on Children and Youth.  In 2016, she was named Social Worker of the Year by the Tennessee Society of Healthcare Social Workers. In 2019, she was named Champion of Seniors by the Knoxville-Knox County Office on Aging. In 2022, she received the John J. Duncan, Sr., Award for Senior Advocacy, also known as the Duncan Award.

In her spare time, Gabrielle, or “Gabe” as we call her in the office, enjoys camping, hiking, and gardening with her husband and two daughters. She also makes a pretty delicious chocolate Bundt cake–some might even call it famous!
