Susan Vieira, Community Liaison
Susan is a middle Tennessee native, having grown up in Nashville. Following her graduation from the Donelson Christian Academy, she attended the University of Tennessee where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. Susan practiced as a Recreational Therapist at the Parthenon Pavilion in Nashville for 6 years. She then moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where she was the Activity Director at Four Courts Senior Center, a skilled nursing and assisted living facility.
Susan and her husband Scott moved from Kentucky to Knoxville in 2003, and she continued her work with older adults and the agencies that provide care for them through her work in community outreach and community relations. Susan serves on the boards of the Senior Information and Referral Service and Caring Hearts. She has also been an active volunteer for Alzheimer’s Tennessee and the Office on Aging.
Susan and Scott have a son, Harrison. In her spare time, she enjoys her two Laboradoodles, Knox and Ribbie, and her cat, Yeti. She also enjoys working out and watching her son play baseball.
